1980 GOLDEN DREAM BARBIE Rare Fabric VARIATION Superstar era Taiwan Quick Curl

  

She is a collector favorite from the Superstar era. She wears the Superstar "diamond" jewelry, as well as a RARE VARIATION fashion. The fabric on most Golden Dream Barbies is a shiny-metallic solid gold. The fashion on this variation is a much lighter sparkling gold on her bodysuit, pants, and gloves.

Her price tag is dated 1983, so I suspect this was a very end-run doll, and Mattel ran out of the normal fabric. She is also the made-in-Taiwan version, (not the ugly Philippines version). Comes with lots of hair styling accessories for her Quick Curl hair. Contents are mint, but box has WEAR -- various dings and wrinkles, and lower part of box/lid is dented. There are a couple small tears on top lid.

Window is clear with NO splits. She will display nicely next to your regular-version Golden Dream Barbie. She is now over 40 years old, so get her now while her price is still reasonable. The doll in the photos is the EXACT doll you will get. Comes from a smoke-free home.
